## Breaking Records! Saving Lives!

From August 29th to September 2nd, 2024, I will be 1 of 56 caring and courageous baseball players who will tie on their cleats to challenge the Guinness World Record by playing in the 3rd edition of the World’s Longest Baseball Game - all while making a difference for cancer patients right here in Alberta.

We will playing baseball for 100+ hours straight - in Alberta's weather - with the goal of raising funds in support of Cancer Research through the University of Alberta!!

As you may know I volunteered at all the Hockey Games, playing in the last two, but this will be my first crack at bat playing baseball! We have all be affected by this disease and I will be playing this game for all my friends and family who have been affected by someone that was able to battle this disease or unfortunately pass away from Cancer. Particularly I will be playing in memory of my Grandpa Obre, Grandma Obre, Grandma Finkbeiner, Great Uncle Cliff, my 2nd Cousin Sandra and close family friends Betty Anne Coyne & Sharon Tomlinson who were taken away from us far too early. I am also playing for my little buddy Max, who I learned about during the sixth game and was able to meet shortly after the game finished; unfortunately, Max lost his battle with cancer shortly after starting Grade 1. I am also playing for Terry, who just passed away from this disease.

Your support will provide hope to people who would otherwise die of their cancer - despite all the best-known treatments - as they will now have a better chance of a cancer-free outcome and more time with their families, friends and loved ones.
