**STRIKING OUT CANCER**

From August 29th to September 2nd, I will be 1 of over 50 caring and courageous baseball players who will step up to the plate to challenge the Guinness World Record by playing in the 3rd edition of the World’s Longest Baseball Game - all while making a difference for cancer patients right here in Alberta.

I’m not playing for the thrill of the game, but in loving memory of two dearly missed souls. Cancer has always been around us but in 2024 it has hit my family hard. Losing a great friend in June and an amazing uncle in July has brought to the forefront the memories of how brutal this disease can be. Seeing their pain and suffering as well as the sadness and devastation that cancer causes families, I have the extra motivation to suit up and swing for the cause. Each inning, every swing, and every pitch will be a tribute to the enduring spirits of two beautiful men gone far too soon and a heartfelt effort to fight back against cancer. As I play with a heavy heart for Uncle Terry and Archie I hope that myself and the other players playing can count on your support as we do our part to strike out cancer.
