Krista-Lee was diagnosed with B cell lymphoma in October 2024.  The diagnosis came as a surprise as she was being treated for a less worrisome condition for about 4 years that turned out to be cancer.  She underwent cancer treatment in December 2024.  After her treatment, she felt weak and was experiencing considerable fatigue from both the cancer itself and radiation therapy treatment. 
 
A couple of colleagues (also friends) encouraged her to consider the Alberta Cancer Exercise (ACE) program. She enrolled in April and has been attending twice a week in the spring program.

The ACE program provides crucial rehabilitation and support services for individuals battling cancer. Through the work of the program, those who are facing cancer have access to vital resources that aid in their recovery, improve their quality of life, and help them regain functionality.

“It has made a huge difference in how I’m feeling and doing. I’m so thankful for this opportunity.  I was saddened to find out that they might not have the funding for the fall program after many years of supporting individuals undergoing or recovering from cancer treatment.
