### **As we approach our 55th reunion, we have a new goal: to raise an additional $50,000 to grow the endowment even further.**

In 2021, the Medicine Class of 1970 came together to create a lasting legacy: an endowment to support third - and fourth - year MD students at the University of Alberta who demonstrate academic excellence and financial need. It was our way of giving back - and giving forward - to the next generation of physicians.

Thanks to the generosity of 32 classmates, we’ve raised approximately $96,000 so far. That support is already making a real difference - six deserving students have received awards, and what began as $1,900 per student has grown to more than $3,000 annually. This endowment is having a meaningful impact, easing financial pressure and encouraging excellence in those who will carry the profession forward.

As we look ahead to our 55th reunion, we have a new goal: to <strong>raise an additional $50,000 to grow the endowment even further</strong>. A larger endowment means we can increase the value of each award, making our gift go even further at a time when students need it most.

This milestone is more than just a celebration - it’s a chance to honour our shared legacy and invest in the future of medicine. Every contribution brings us closer to expanding our impact and strengthening the support we provide.
