**Alberta has the largest, youngest and fastest-growing Indigenous population in Canada. However, Indigenous people are underrepresented in post-secondary rehabilitation programs, and access to rehabilitation in rural locations is limited.**

**The Indigenous and Rural Student Support Fund will facilitate access for Indigenous and rural students to pursue rehabilitation medicine programs. It also provides the necessary supports for access to rural health services and the need for culturally safe, appropriate rehabilitation care for Indigenous Peoples.**  

**Donations received will be used to assist Indigenous and rural rehabilitation medicine graduate students. The impact of your gift can be seen in the next generation of rehabilitation leaders who are able to successfully complete their studies, share their innovative ideas and exceptional skills in a diverse, equitable, inclusive environment that enhances their learning experiences and overall well-being.**

**Graduate studies are a significant commitment and investment. Challenges and barriers exist for Indigenous and rural students to actively participate. Financial limitations can prevent students from pursuing and/or continuing their studies and force them to abandon their dreams.** 

**Targeted financial supports are crucial to overcome these challenges. Donor partnerships help to ensure Indigenous and rural students can actively participate while tackling the challenge of access to rural health services and the need for culturally safe, appropriate rehabilitation care for Indigenous Peoples.**
