With 60+ researchers in the U of A's Centre for Hydrogen Innovation, Workforce Development, and Outreach, EcoCar has a large network of expertise to develop the hydrogen workforce in Alberta by training students to safely design, test, operate and innovate hydrogen fuel-cell vehicles.

EcoCar prioritizes advanced and in-house manufacturing with rigorous safety and risk management across our builds, reducing cost while maximizing experiential learning opportunities. By donating to EcoCar, you are supporting our Urban Concept build for the 2027 Shell Eco-Marathon. Following two consecutive prototype-category wins, your investment enables us to rise to the challenge of the more complex subsystems and stricter regulations of the Urban Concept category.

Through EcoCar, students develop skills in project management, sustainable design, and advanced manufacturing. EcoCar promotes sustainability on campus and beyond, through the Canadian Hydrogen Convention, collaboration with hydrogen bus facilities, and conducting eight media interviews last year, earning recognition with the Campus Sustainability Leaders Award.
