Canadians' lives are deeply intertwined with Indigenous interests, including land, water, health, natural resource extraction, history, treaties, identity, and community well-being. Being aware of the ways in which we are all connected means we become better equipped to understand Canada's complexity and participate as enlightened citizens.

Your generous gift will allow us to continue exceptional teaching, learning and research experiences for Indigenous and non-Indigenous students. 

This includes:

* Continuing education courses on Indigenous history and cultural perspectives
* Cree language education and training 
* Writing workshops for students 
* Land-based learning opportunities for students


Students, researchers, and instructors of the Faculty of Native Studies go on to make big contributions to the community and society at large. As we address the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada Calls to Action, the Faculty of Native Studies community are leaders. They are addressing current day issues such as protecting biodiversity, addressing systemic racism, and Indigenous language revitalization.

By teaching Indigenous peoples' perspectives, values and needs, Native Studies transforms students into change makers and community builders.
